Russia, Mexico negotiating new helicopter contract - FSMTC
LIMA. May 18 (Interfax) - Mexico may buy a batch of helicopters from Russia, Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Deputy Director Anatoly Punchuk said.
"Mexico is considering the purchase of additional batches of Russian helicopters. Rosoboronexport is making energetic marketing efforts to promote them," Punchuk told reporters on Thursday.
Mexico is an active operator of Russian helicopters, he said.
There is another regional country, Nicaragua, with which Russia would like to develop military-technical cooperation, Punchuk said. "Russia is ready to assist the Nicaraguan Armed Forces in their re-arming and professional training," he said.
The International Exhibition of Technology in Defense and Prevention of Natural Disasters (SITDEF 2017) will take place in Peru on May 18-21. Punchuk is heading the Russian delegation at the show.
