BIE confirms EXPO-2017 preparations on schedule in Kazakhstan
ALMATY. May 26 (Interfax) - Deputy Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzes, says preparations for EXPO-2017 are proceeding in an orderly fashion in Astana.
"Yesterday, I had a tour of the exhibition site for about two hours. Those who see it for the first time may say: how will they make it, as nothing is ready yet. However, we hold many exhibitions and we know it's a usual state of things. The preparations are in the final stretch," Kerkentzes said.
"I am confident that on June 10, EXPO-2017 in Astana will surprise all visitors," he added.
The BIE Deputy Secretary General was pleased with the organization of the meeting of international participants, who managed to resolve many organizational issues. "Some international participants are ready to present their pavilions tomorrow, others are at the final stage of filling their pavilion with theme-based content. Everything is going according to schedule," he said.
The EXPO-2017 international exhibition, Future Energy, will be held from June 10 to September 10, 2017. 115 countries and 22 international organizations have confirmed their participation.
