Russia to continue space launches from Vostochny, Baikonur - Rogozin
ST. PETERSBURG. June 1 (Interfax) - Space launches from the Vostochny cosmodrome will continue, and Russia will also not abandon the Baikonur cosmodrome, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.
"No, this information is wrong," Rogozin told reporters at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), answering a question as to whether the idea to launch manned spaceships from Vostochny had been abandoned.
"We will also continue to use the Baikonur infrastructure as a way to incorporate possible Kazakh investment in the renovation of the Zenit launch pad. After all, we want to rebuild a medium-haul rocket and to begin manned launches afterwards. There are plans to launch manned spaceships from Vostochny, too," the deputy prime minister said.
