Montenegro becomes NATO member
WASHINGTON. June 5 (Interfax) - Montenegro has deposited the instrument of accession to NATO to U.S. Under Secretary Thomas Shannon, thus officially becoming the 29th member of the alliance.
The ceremony took place in the United States Department of State on Monday, an Interfax correspondent reported. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic participated in the ceremony.
