Muscovite Yegorov responsible for massacre in village near Tver used double-tap to kill his victims - source

TVER. June 5 (Interfax) - Moscow resident Sergei Yegorov, who had murdered nine people in the village of Redkino, Tver region, in the early hours of Sunday, used the double-tapping technique to kill his victims and planned to burn their bodies, an informed source told Interfax on Monday.

"The murderer finished his victims off, using the double-tapping technique," the source said.

As reported, Moscow resident Yegorov, aged 45, killed nine people from his Saiga hunting rifle following an altercation occurring at the table in the village of Redkino, Tver region, in the early hours of June 4. The suspect was detained at the crime scene, a court sanctioned his arrest. A criminal case has been opened.

A source told Interfax that investigators believe that the incident occurred after the summer residents drinking alcoholic beverages in the house invited electrician Yegorov working in their house to join them. During a conversation they did not believe Yegorov's claims he had served in the army and laughed at him. Yegorov took offence and left and returned at approximately 3:00 a.m. to shoot them dead.

"Having shot dead eight people from a Saiga hunting gun, the murderer began to drag their bodies towards the house. He planned to burn the corpses afterwards," the source said.

Hearing shots, a 90-year old man came up from a house nearby and tried to plead with the murderer. Yegorov killed him as well.

"A 21-old woman hiding under a blanket in the house called the police. A local police officer, who had arrived first at the scene, called his acquaintance from the traffic police for help. They watched how the murderer had dragged the corpses to the house and disarmed him, having waited till he dropped the weapon on the ground," the source said.
