Russian electricity exports edge up 0.9% to 5 bln kWh in 4M - customs
MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) - Russia exported 5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in January-April 2017, 0.9% more than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
In value terms, the exports declined 1% to $167.1 million.
Russia exported 4.4 billion kWh for $141.7 million to non-CIS countries, down 4.7% but up 0.9% respectively compared with the same period last year.
Electricity exports to the CIS countries fell 19% year-on-year to 616 million kWh worth $25.3 million, 19% and 11% less.
Russia imported 1.686 billion kWh of electricity worth $29.1 million in 4M, respectively 100% and 122% more year-on-year. It imported 53.9 million kWh worth $0.5 million from the non-CIS (down 10% and 29% respectively) and 1.632 billion kWh worth $28.6 million from the CIS, up from 788.6 million kWh worth $12.4 million in the same period last year.
