Special operation to detain shooter in community outside Moscow continuing
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Shots continue to be fired from time to time at the scene of a special operation in the village of Kratovo outside Moscow, where a local resident earlier shot several people.
A special operation to detain a man suspected of killing four people and wounding several others is continuing in Kratovo, an Interfax correspondent reported from the scene on Saturday evening.
Single shots have occasionally been fired from a nearby forest, he said.
A police detail has been posted at the entrance to the village to inspect incoming cars.
Several fire engines, ambulances, Russian National Guard and police vehicles have also been deployed at the scene of the operation.
Some neighbors of the shooter said he had earlier undergone treatment at a mental clinic but had no conflicts with locals.
It had been reported earlier in the day that a man possibly suffering a mental disorder opened fire upon passersby from his house in Kratovo. A source had said earlier that several people had been killed and injured. The Russian National Guard started a special operation to neutralize the shooter.
The Interior Ministry later confirmed that at least four people had been killed in the incident.
