Provocateurs being uncovered at action in central Moscow - mayoral office
MOSCOW. June 12 (Interfax) - Moscow authorities and law enforcement agencies did not allow for breaching public order in central Moscow, certain provocateurs are being detained, Moscow regional security department's head Vladimir Chernikov said.
"The most important thing is that the situation is under control, provocateurs failed to create a precedence, having spoiled the holiday to all people," Chernikov told Interfax on Monday, when asked to comment on developments in central Moscow, where opposition members have gathered.
"A certain number of people, who came out at the beginning of Tverskaya Street, unfortunately spoiled the mood," he said.
"We were right, it has been a 100% provocation by inadequate people, who are not responsible for their actions and words," Chernikov said.
"The working process is ongoing; police actions are synchronized like a clock-work. There is no task of a certain total mopping up, but a precise, professional work is proceeding against those, who continue provoking the situation," he said, when asked about whether one can assume that attempts made by the opposition to hold an unsanctioned action are thwarted.
