Russia, Belarus discuss resumption of joint potash sales

MINSK/MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Representatives from Uralkali and Belaruskali discussed approaches to resuming cooperation on potash sales at a meeting held by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"At the meeting, approaches to a potential resumption of cooperation and current questions associated with the situation on the global potash market were substantively discussed," the presidential press service reported.

Russian business representatives and Belarusian industry leaders attended the meeting.

"The president emphasized the Belarusian side's unchanging position that a resumption of the cooperation is possible solely given compulsory observance of the national interests of Belarus and exclusively on a mutually beneficial basis," the press service reported.

A representative of Belarusian Potash Company (BPC), Belaruskali's trading company, declined to comment on the results of the meeting.
