Putin reveals birth of his second grandchild
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said his second grandchild was born recently and that he would not like his grandchildren to grow up like 'princes of the blood'.
"Despite all rumors, my children live here in Russia, in Moscow. And I have grandchildren, too," Putin said at a Q&A session on Thursday.
"As concerns grandchildren, one is already attending kindergarten. You see, I don't want them to grow up like some princes of the blood, I want them to grow up like normal people," Putin said.
He said his second grandchild was born just recently.
Putin said his two daughters are into science and education, "they don't meddle anywhere, they don't meddle in politics and live normal and ordinary lives."
In order for his grandchildren to grow up like normal people, they need "routine and ordinary communication in children's groups," Putin said.
"If only I tell you their ages and names, they'll be immediately identified and won't be let alone. And this would damage the children's development," Putin said.
"Therefore, everything goes well with me, and I ask you to get me right and accept this position with understanding," he said.
