Rosoboronexport's aircraft contracts total almost $20 bln - general director
PARIS. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Aircraft account for around $19 billion in Rosoboronexport's portfolio of export contracts, the company's general director Alexander Mikheyev said.
"In the total order book, aircraft account for 45-48%. Signed contracts are worth around $19 billion. It is an order book for Air Force equipment," Mikheyev told journalists on Monday.
Whereas before 2010, the biggest markets for Russian weapons were India and China, "over the past two years the main export potential, the leading roles have shifted to the African and Middle Eastern countries," he said. "These are followed by India and China. All together they account for around 70% of our export volume," Mikheyev said.
Most exports are aircraft equipment, he said. "The trend continues. There is a steady demand for warplanes. No doubt, a large share is the helicopter equipment," Mikheyev said.
