Export contracts largely unaffected by Western sanctions - Rosoboronexport chief

PARIS. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Western sanctions failed to create significant problems for Rosoboronexport in working with its traditional foreign partners, the company's general director Alexander Mikheyev said.

"So far the sanctions have not had a major influence on our immediate contract execution as part of the existing order-book. Yes, problems do exist at various levels, but so far they are not critical," Mikheyev told journalists on Monday.

Last year the company exported to 53 countries and signed over a thousand of contracts, he said.

"Today the sanctions are not prohibiting us from working with our traditional partners. We are working with European, American companies in line with existing international law. When necessary, the Americans make a decision and work with Russian organizations - Roscosmos, Rosoboronexport and other companies," Mikheyev said.

Rosoboronexport is the authorized provider of post-sale servicing of the helicopters delivered to Afghanistan earlier, he recalled. "There, over 200 helicopters are in use, Rosoboronexport delivered 63 helicopters under its contracts. We are ready - our industry, and the Russian Helicopters holding company, and the whole cooperation - to promptly respond to any request regarding parts supplies to Afghanistan," Mikheyev said.
