OSCE SMM says its monitors attacked by armed men
KYIV. June 20 (Interfax) - The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) observers were attacked in Donbas, the mission said.
"Armed so-called "DPR" members violently attacked unarmed civilian monitors," the OSCE SMM said in its Twitter on Tuesday.
"Details in spot report to follow," it said.
Interfax has no comments in this regard from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
The DPR defense ministry is holding an inquiry following the report about OSCE SMM monitors being attacked, Ruslan Yakubov, DPR forces command representative in the Joint Control and Coordination Center, told Interfax.
"The Defense Ministry of the DPR is conducting an inquiry to find out whether the information about OSCE mission members being assaulted by armed men is true," Yakubov said.
