Kyrgyz president bestows highest state awards on Russian FM Lavrov, presidential spokesman Peskov
MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev has awarded Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the Danaker order and Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov the Manas order, third class.
Atambayev bestowed Kyrgyzstan's highest state awards on the representatives of the Russian government, as well as the Russian president's aide and spokesman as part of the events of his state visit to Russia, the Kyrgyz presidential press service told Interfax on Wednesday.
"Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov was awarded the Danaker order, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov and Russian presidential spokesman Peskov were awarded the Manas order of the third class, and Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak was awarded the Dank medal," the press service said.
During negotiations between the Russian and Kyrgyz presidents in narrow and extended formats on Tuesday, Atambayev repeatedly expressed gratitude to the Russian government for providing assistance and support to Kyrgyzstan.
President Atambayev is paying a state visit to Russia, his negotiations with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, as well as a meeting with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora, are planned for Wednesday.
