SCO to hold cyber counter-terrorism exercise in China
TASHKENT. June 21 (Interfax) - The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will conduct a command post exercise in countering internet use for terrorist, separatist and extremist purposes in December in China, Yevgeny Sysoyev, director of the executive committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, said.
"This will be a second cyber-terrorism exercise. The first was held in December 2015 also in China, in the city of Xiamen. At the end of this year, again in December, we are planning to gather in China to conduct similar events. The interest in this exercise is very great," Sysoyev told journalists in Tashkent on Wednesday.
The Xiamen-2015 exercise gave an idea of how prepared the SCO members' competent authorities were for the mechanisms of cooperation in this sphere of combating terrorism and extremism, the official said.
