Russian, Turkish military record 25 truce breaches in Syria in past 24 hours
MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The situation remains stable in the de-escalation areas in Syria, while random gunfire continues to be observed on lands held by ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia), the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report on Friday.
"The situation in the de-escalation areas has been stable. Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches recorded 13 shooting incidents during the day," the ministry said.
The Russian military observed two shooting incidents in the Aleppo province, five shooting incidents in each of Latakia and the Damascus province, and one incident in the Hama province.
For its part, Turkish members of the commission recorded 12 breaches, including one in each of the Hama and Homs provinces, six in the Damascus province and four in the Daraa province.
"Most cases of random small arms fire were observed in the areas held by militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist groups," the ministry said.
