Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denies death of Special Forces servicemen in Karabakh
BAKU. June 23 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has denied the death of four Azerbaijani Special Forces servicemen in the Karabakh conflict zone in the small hours of June 22.
"The Armenian military command has once again resorted to fabricated and false information, seeking rehabilitation for the recent casualties and failures on the frontline," a ministry spokesman told Interfax.
The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) told Interfax on Thursday they had prevented an incursion of an Azerbaijani sabotage-and-reconnaissance group.
"The special-operations unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was timely detected and stopped. The sabotage group was pushed back to the initial positions. At least four Azerbaijani servicemen were killed," the ministry said.
