LPR sees 13 Ukrainian army attacks in past 24 hours
LUHANSK/KYIV. June 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army has launched 13 attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past 24 hours, an LPR militia spokesman told Interfax on Monday.
"The Ukrainian army breached the truce 13 times during the day, using 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars, various types of grenade launchers, infantry combat vehicles, and small arms," the report said.
The LPR militia reported Ukrainian army attacks on the vicinity of Obozne, Kruta Hora, Dolhe, Zholobok, Kalynove, Sokilnyky, Smile, Pervomaisk, and Zhovte. "There was neither damage nor civilian or military casualties," the militia said.
For its part, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) observed nine attacks by the Ukrainian army.
"The Ukrainian army breached the truce nine times during the day. The army shelled the vicinity of five populated localities in the republic, using 120mm mortars, infantry combat vehicles, armored personnel carriers, grenade launchers, and small arms," a spokesman for the DPR Defense Ministry told reporters on Monday.
There is no information about possible damage done to residential areas, he said.
In turn, the staff of the military operation in eastern Ukraine said on Facebook that the militia conducted 23 attacks on Ukrainian army positions during the day and one serviceman was injured. "The enemy continues to breach the truce and uses mortars of various calibers from time to time," the report said.
