Poroshenko tells French premier about "threat" emanating from Nord Stream 2
PARIS. June 26 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe in Paris to discuss the development of trade and economic cooperation and renewable-energy projects.
The leaders have agreed to intensify the work of the Ukrainian-French intergovernmental commission on economic affairs, the Ukrainian president's press office said on Monday.
"Petro Poroshenko and Edouard Philippe discussed the prospects of French companies accessing the Ukrainian market to develop renewable energy. The head of state drew the French prime minister's attention to the threats to Europe's energy security that the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 gas supply project would entail," the statement says.
Philippe "noted the depth of Ukrainian reforms, which fosters a better investment climate."
