Astana hopes Arab countries, Qatar resolve differences through dialogue
ASTANA. June 28 (Interfax) - Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov and his Qatari counterpart Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi have discussed the state and prospects of the bilateral cooperation, as well as international and regional issues, the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry said.
At the meeting the parties noted the successful course of implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Qatar sees Kazakhstan as a friendly country and is keen to deepen the bilateral cooperation across the whole spectrum of areas, Al-Muraikhi said.
Abdrakhmanov also expressed concern over the growing political crisis between Qatar and a number of other Arab states.
"We are certain that the conflicting parties will be able to resolve their differences and settle the situation, in which Kazakhstan-friendly countries found themselves, through dialogue," Abdrakhmanov said.
It is hoped that Qatari leaders will take part in an Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit on science and technology due to be held in Astana on September 10-11, 2017, the Kazakh foreign minister said.
