Vietnamese president to develop national atomic energy sector in cooperation with Russia

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Vietnam will be developing peaceful atomic energy projects in cooperation with Russia, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang said at a meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in Moscow on Friday.

"We wish to boost cooperation with Russia in every area. Considering the interests of the two sides, we have decided to continue interaction with Russia in building a center of nuclear science and technology in Vietnam and to train personnel for that center," Quang said.

"We will be using atomic energy for peaceful purposes," he said.

There are also plans to strengthen interaction in defense, security, economics, the culture and humanitarian areas, Quang said.
