Fire put out on transpolar reindeer pastures, emergency called off

MURMANSK. July 4 (Interfax) - A reindeer pasture fire has been extinguished in the transpolar Lovozero district, a spokesman for the Murmansk forestry aviation base told Interfax on Tuesday.

"The fire was put out across 200 hectares at 9 p.m. Moscow time on Monday," the spokesman said.

The wildfire emergency has been called off, the local dispatcher service told Interfax.

The reindeer pasture fire in the Lovozero district was detected by a satellite on Sunday. A wildfire emergency was put into place.
