Chinese-Russian strategic partnership improves global stability - Xi Jinping
MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Partnership between China and Russia benefits not only the two countries but also maintains stability around the world, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.
"Our strategic partnership has benefited not only us but has also added huge positive energy to maintaining peace and security around the world as a stabilizer and a cornerstone in the rapidly changing international situation," Xi said at top-level Russian-Chinese negotiations in an expanded format in Moscow on Tuesday.
Russia and China "should be making efforts to strengthen their relations," he said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that, during the Chinese leader's visit to Moscow, the parties "have had the opportunity to talk in a narrow format about all aspects of bilateral cooperation."
"This concerned political interaction, international affairs, the economy, military and military-technical cooperation and humanitarian interaction," Putin said.
"In such a broad format, we have an opportunity to give the floor to our colleagues, ministers and deputy prime ministers and talk in a more detailed way about issues that are of the greatest interest to us," he said.
