Kazakhstan's VTB subsidiary names new BoD chairman
ASTANA. July 4 (Interfax) - The Board of Directors of VTB Bank Kazakhstan will be chaired by Denis Bortnikov, the bank said on Tuesday.
"On June 30, 2017, Denis Bortnikov, who previously served as Deputy President and CEO of VTB Bank, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of VTB Bank (Kazakhstan)," the report said.
"Currently Denis Aleksandrovich [Bortnikov] is in charge of the medium-sized and small business division within VTB Group, which, according to the development strategy of VTB Bank Kazakhstan for 2017-19, is singled out as a separate business item and is a priority," VTB Bank Kazakhstan's CEO Dmitry Zabello was quoted as saying.
The sole shareholder of VTB Bank Kazakhstan on June 20 terminated the powers of ex-chairman of the Board of Directors Mikhail Oseevsky, who is now the president of Rostelecom.
The board of directors chaired by Denis Bortnikov has three members: Aidar Kaliev, Sergei Stepanov and Ilnar Shaimardanov and three independent directors: Kanat Dosmukametov, Dosym Kadyrbaev and Slava Sizova.
In Q1 2017, VTB Kazakhstan ranked 21st by assets among the 33 second-tier banks operating in Kazakhstan.
