(para 1 adjusted)
ST. PETERSBURG. July 4 (Interfax) - The United Heavy Machinery Plants (OMZ) Group's Izhorskiye Zavody plans in July to sign a contract with JSC Atomenergomash to make equipment for the second reactor unit of the Akkuyu nuclear plant in Turkey, Izhorskiye Zavody's general director, Alexander Sharapov, told reporters.
"We plan to sign a contract in the near future - in July, probably," he said, adding that it would be signed with Atomenergomash subsidiary AEM Technologies and would be worth 3 billion rubles. The equipment will be produced over a period of four years.
AEM Technologies has received orders worth $36.3 million in June to manufacture and supply equipment for the four generating units of the Akkuyu plant.
