Agriculture watchdog permits Belarusian cheese producer to resume supplies to Russia

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted temporary restrictions on the import of cheese from Belarusian firm Berezovsky cheese-making plant from July 5.

The first ten shipments of cheese, delivered to Russia must be accompanied by laboratory test reports for traces of banned and harmful substances, including antibiotics penicillin, tetracycline, cephalosporin group, lincosamides and macrolides, the watchdog said.

Rosselkhoznadzor also announced that temporary restrictions on imports of produce from LLC Belsyr to Russia had been lifted from June 29, with the exception of powdered milk and whey powder. The decision was taken on the basis of an analysis of materials of an investigation into the reasons for the violations of EAEU and Russian regulations.

At the same time, the watchdog warned that it may consider imposing bans on imports of produce from a number of other Belarusian livestock firms due to repeated violation by them.
