Putin praises Nazarbayev's contribution to security in Eurasian area

ASTANA. July 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has wished a happy birthday to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in a greeting message, praising his contribution to his country's socioeconomic development and the strengthening of its positions on the global arena, the Kazakh presidential press service reported on Thursday.

"It is impossible to overestimate your personal contribution to strengthening the allied relationship and strategic partnership between our states and also to stepping up mutually beneficial integration processes and ensuring security in the Eurasian area," Putin said in a letter excerpts from which the Kazakh presidential press service quoted.

"I highly value mutual understanding and confidence existing between us. We work productively together on all issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda," he said.

Putin wished Nazarbayev good health, happiness, wellbeing, and new achievements to the benefit of the people of Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev turns 77 on July 6.
