Peskov views anti-globalist protests during G20 summit in Hamburg as hooliganism
MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - The anti-globalist protests during the G20 summit in Hamburg were an act of hooliganism, their appeals to the chiefs of state and government were not clear, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"That did not interfere with the summit's progress in any way. Such acts of hooliganism happen. To be frank, meaning no disrespect for those anti-globalists, I did not understand why they were protesting," Peskov said in the Night with Vladimir Solovyov program aired by the Rossiya 1 channel (VGTRK).
"I heard them behaving disorderly, but I did not see any people in Hamburg who could explicitly say what exactly they did not like and what they were urging the chiefs of state and government to do. I did not see that, so I viewed their conduct exclusively as an act of hooliganism," Peskov said.
