Penitentiary Service says it didn't submit motion to court to revoke Navalny's suspended sentence

MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) did not submit a motion to the court on cancelling opposition activist Alexei Navalny's suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case, the FSIN press service told Interfax.

"The FSIN did not submit a motion to the Moscow's Simonovsky District Court requesting to revoke Navalny's suspended sentence handed down by the court's judgment," the press service said.

Earlier on Tuesday Viktor Vasilyev, the spokesperson for the Simonovsky District Court, told Interfax that Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) had filed a motion requesting that opposition politician Alexei Navalny's suspended sentence be replaced with imprisonment.

Vasilyev said later that the court returned the motion to the FSIN as it was not signed.
