Kremlin vows to voice 'conceptual position' on agreement between federal govt, Tatarstan at later time

MOSCOW. July 12 (Interfax) - The Kremlin will formulate and voice its conceptual position regarding an agreement between the federal government and Tatarstan at a later time, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"As concerns the agreement: it expires on the 24th [of July]. In fact, there is a legal dispute as to what should be considered the date when this agreement expires, either the 24th, when it was signed, or August 11, the day of its publication," Peskov said.

"Some law experts are inclined to think that it would be more correct to see the 11th as such a date from the legal standpoint," he said.

"What is important in this case is perhaps not this - there is no point in clinging to days here. And a conceptual position [on the agreement] will be formulated and voiced," Peskov said.

When asked whether a meeting between President Putin and the president of Tatarstan was planned for the near future, Peskov replied, "No, it's not planned within the next few weeks."
