Terror acts averted in crowded places in Russian regions - deputy prosecutor general
MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has reported the prevention of terrorist attacks in Moscow and a number of other cities.
"Terrorist attacks were averted in crowded places in Moscow, the Vladimir, Kaliningrad and Sakhalin regions, and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District thanks to coordinated actions of law enforcement agencies," Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Grin said in the State Duma on Thursday.
Grin did not specify when and what terrorist attacks were prevented.
"Considerable damage was done to militant groups in the North Caucasus. Measures were taken to cut channels of terrorism financing and detecting the network of recruiters for international terrorists," he said.
