Karasin, Moldovan ambassador discuss alarming trends regarding Russian peacekeepers' rotation

MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary Grigory Karasin discussed the rotation of Russian peacekeepers with Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta in a conversation on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"[The parties] discussed alarming trends among other things. Particularly, it applies to the Moldovan side's ensuring the rotation order of Russian servicemen deployed to Moldova in keeping with international practice," the ministry said on its website.

The parties exchanged views on the relevant aspects of Russian-Moldovan relations, the ministry said.

"Dynamically developing contacts at a high political level and a number of practical measures carried out by the Russian side to intensify bilateral relations were noted," it said.

The situation in the negotiating process on the Transniestrian settlement was addressed separately.
