Man smuggling military equipment to Ukraine held in Voronezh region

VORONEZH. July 14 (Interfax) - The Central District Court in Voronezh has ordered a tow-month arrest for smuggler detained on the Ukrainian border, the court's press service said.

Thus, the court granted the investigators' request to arrest the man who was charged with attempt to illegally carry military equipment over the customs border of the Customs Union.

On July 10, officers of the Voronezh region department of the Federal Security Service inspected a Gazel vehicle that was going from Russia to Ukraine. The officers found three green containers in which there were military equipment that can be imported or exported only under licenses of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation.

No information on the man's identity and the equipment he tried to smuggle is disclosed.
