Next meeting of Contact Group on Ukraine scheduled for August 2

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - The next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk will take place on August 2, Viktoria Talakina, an aide to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's (DPR) envoy Denis Pushilin, said on Wednesday.

"A meeting of the Contact Group has concluded. The security issues discussion was traditionally the most heated and difficult one. Negotiators' next meeting is scheduled for August 2," she said on Facebook.

The parties discussed the need to observe the previously declared 'bread truce,' Talakina said. "The [self-proclaimed] Donbas republics' representatives insisted on the withdrawal of forces and hardware in the third pilot area, Stanytsia Luhanska, in the next few days. Given that the latest shelling recorded by the OSCE SMM in this section took place on July 13, there are no obstacles for the disengagement, except for the Ukrainian side's reluctance," she said.

"The parties were able to come to understanding of the need to conclude the disengagement in this area, however, no certain date was scheduled," she said.
