Missiles for 'Poliment-Redut', 'Vityaz' prospective air defense systems to be unified - Almaz-Antey Concern

ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region). July 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The 'Poliment-Redut' air defense missile system intended for Russian naval ships and the 'Vityaz' S-350 air defense missile system will use three types of similar missiles, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Almaz-Antey Concern Deputy General Director for Foreign Economic Activity, said.

"The 'Poliment-Redut' air defense missile system envisages the use of three types of missiles: shorter-range, medium-range and intermediate-range missiles, which are successfully being tested now. These missiles are new-generation missiles with very high maneuverability in order to engage the entire range of objects mounting an attack. These missiles are unified with the S-350 'Vityaz' air defense missile system," he told reporters on the sidelines of the MAKS 2017 air show in Zhukovsky, Moscow region, on Thursday.

"As of today, a fully-fledged 'Poliment-Redut' air defense missile system is deployed on board the Navy's flagship frigate Admiral Gorshkov," he said.

"There are also several corvettes equipped with launchers, radars and guidance systems from this naval complex," he said.

It was reported earlier that all new-generation missiles will have active self-homing warheads, inertial guidance systems and will have very high maneuverability in order to engage the whole range of objects mounting an attack.
