Over 50 countries purchased Russian military products through Rosoboronexport in 2016 - deputy CEO

ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region). July 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian military products enjoy stable demand abroad, Rosoboronexport Deputy CEO Sergei Ladygin said.

"More than 50 counties imported our military products through Rosoboronexport in 2016," Ladygin, who leads a Russian delegation at the MAKS-2017 air show, told journalists on Thursday.

"Countries such as Vietnam, India, or China are the regular partners of Rosoboronexport that top this list," Ladygin said.

"I can't say that the sanctions that have been imposed and are in place have made it easier for us to work, but the figures for overall 2016 exports and the existing Rosoboronexport contract portfolio show that we are successful in developing export shipments to our conventional markets and increasing our presence in new regions," he said.

The overall volume of military exports through Rosoboronexport in 2016 reached $13.1 billion, Ladygin said. "The volume of export has been insignificantly going up and down over the past five years, but on the whole, Rosoboronexport's real yearly indicator has remained at the same level all this time," he said.

"The current state of affairs makes us sure that we will reach our target in 2017," he said.
