Aircraft-carrying complex to be created for Russian Navy after 2025 - document
MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Navy will receive autonomous unmanned submersibles after 2025, creation of a naval aircraft carrying complex is also in the plans, according to the fundamentals of the Russian state policy for naval affairs through 2030.
The presidential decree approving the document was published on the official legal information online portal.
"Hypersonic missiles and robotized means designed for various purposes, including autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicles, will entering service in the Navy's underwater and overwater forces and coastal-defense troops after 2025," the document says.
There are also "plans to create a maritime aircraft-carrying complex of perspective surface warships and submarines (combat platforms)," the document says.
The plans also include creating "next-generation deepwater maritime systems and deploying maritime robotized systems to perform a wide range of combat and support missions," the document says.
By 2030 all of Russia's strategic fronts must possess powerful, balanced fleets consisting of ships, designed for missions in nearby and remote maritime zones and oceanic areas; naval aircraft; and coastal-defense troops armed with efficient high-precision attack weapons and having a developed basing and support system," the document says.
