Moldovan president not ready to forsake his country's neutrality, sovereignty, Orthodox faith, cooperation with Russia

CHISINAU. July 25 (Interfax) - Moldovan President Igor Dodon said there are five fundamental things that he is not prepared to compromise.

Dodon made the statement during an online question and answer session with Odnoklassniki users on Tuesday evening.

"There are fundamental things from which I will not back away. The statehood of Moldova, there can be no trading here. The neutrality of Moldova, which will not survive as a state if it start playing geopolitical games. Also, our [Christian] Orthodox faith, which is the basis of Moldova's statehood. Our strategic cooperation with Russia. And the fifth: our country's reintegration, resolution of the Transdniestrian problem," Dodon said.

"Moldova must be friends with both West and East," he said.

"We will be developing relations with everyone," the Moldovan president said.
