U.S. bill on Russia sanctions narrows Trump's powers to lift them - source

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - The U.S. bill on new Russia sanctions in fact does not contain anything mortally dangerous to Russia but narrows President Donald Trump's ability to lift them, an analyst who studied the bill told Interfax.

"There is nothing mortally dangerous in this bill. It codifies the sanctions that have already been imposed, that is, elevates their status to that of laws," the analyst said.

In this situation, "the U.S. president will not be authorized to annul this in the future, and this narrows his powers," he said.
