Russian Foreign Ministry drawing OSCE and CoE countries' attention to Kyiv's campaign against opposition journalists

MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Moscow is calling on members of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe (CoE), as well as relevant international organizations to condemn Kyiv's policy on opposition media, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"We drew attention to the situation around the Security Service of Ukraine's hounding of Zhytomyr-based journalist Vasiliy Muravickiy, who faces accusations of treason for suspected collaboration with the Russian media and spreading ostensibly pro-Russian materials," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

This is yet another episode in Kyiv's "campaign of cruel, forceful suppression of opposition journalists, total purging of Ukraine's information space in the interests of the ruling regime," the ministry said.

"Once again we are calling on OSCE and CoE member states, as well as relevant international organizations, to join the Russian Federation in condemning Kyiv's barbaric and criminal policy on the media," the ministry said.
