Police seizing materials in Navalny's Samara headquarters - activists

SAMARA. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Policemen arrived at opposition activist Alexei Navalny's headquarters in Samara on Wednesday, his supporters said.

"A search with seizure is underway at the headquarters," a report posted on the Samara headquarters' account in the VKontakte social network said.

Headquarters coordinator Yekaterina Gerasimova confirmed to Interfax that "five or six policemen in plainclothes suddenly appeared" at the premises.

"I wasn't there at the time; there were our volunteers and an employee of the headquarters in the room. They showed them some order of an investigator literally for a moment, but didn't allow learning more about it. Therefore, it's unclear what activities exactly are underway," Gerasimova said.

She and other employees of the headquarters are barred from entering the room, she said.

"According to people who are there, all banners, all leaflets, all newspapers are being seized now," Gerasimova said.
