Russian-Bulgarian relations have always rested on fraternal bonds, spiritual kinship - Putin

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev on the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

"Russian-Bulgarian relations have a long and rich history. In all times, they have been based on bonds of fraternal friendship and cultural and spiritual kinship connecting our people," Putin said in a telegram published on the Kremlin website.

The 1992 treaty expanded interaction between Moscow and Sofia and played a big role in fostering trade, investments, scientific, humanitarian and other contacts, Putin said.

"I sincerely wish you good health and success, as well as prosperity and wellbeing for all citizens of Bulgaria," Putin said in his telegram.
