One-way communications established with 2-3 out of 9 miners remaining inside Mir mine - Alrosa
MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - One-way communications have been established with some of the nine miners remaining underground at the Mir mine, Alrosa CEO Sergei Ivanov reported from the emergency response center situated in Mirny.
"As of 9:30 p.m. Moscow time (3:24 a.m. local time), the rescue operation searching for nine miners is underway. At this point, one-way communications have been established with some of them," the company's press service quoted Ivanov as saying.
According to different reports, communications have been established with two or three workers trapped inside the mine, Alrosa press service said.
