Gazprom receives gas inflows during drilling at Kruzenshternskoye field

ULAN-UDE/MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Gazprom has received gas and gas condensate inflows while drilling a well at the Kruzenshternskoye field in the Kara Sea, Russian Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi told Interfax.

"They're testing a well at Kruzenshternskoye. Nine locations have already been tested in Valanginian and Aptian beds, and gas and gas condensate inflows have been obtained everywhere," Donskoi said.

A request to update the field's reserves might be submitted to the State Reserves Commission (GKZ) after a well at the block's offshore section has been drilled, he said.

"Preparations are also under way to drill a prospecting well in the field's offshore section. After that they'll submit their findings to the GKZ and I think there are very good prospects," he said.

Kruzenshternskoye is part of the Bovanenkovo group of fields. Its gas reserves are currently estimated at 965 billion cubic meters (bcm). According to Gazprom's most recent documentation, the field will come on stream in 2027-2028, reaching plateau production of around 33 bcm a year in 2031-2033.
