Uniper's Russian division sees EBITDA soar to 528 mln euros in H1
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The Russian division of German energy company Uniper posted EBITDA of 528 million euros in the first half of 2017, compared to 7 million euros in the same period of 2016, the company said in a presentation.
EBIT totaled 480 million euros, compared to negative 37 million euros in the first half of 2016.
The results were affected by an accident at the third generating unit of the Berezovskaya GRES power plant and subsequent write-off for repairs, as well as an insurance payout of 20 billion rubles in May 2017 for the incident at the unit. In addition, capacity supply agreement (CSA) payments and favorable changes in the ruble exchange rate had a positive impact on results.
Uniper's overall EBITDA fell 19% in H1 to 1.253 billion euros. EBIT was down 18% to 930 million euros. Revenue rose from 33.3 billion euros to 37.3 billion euros. The company swung to a 1 billion euro net profit from a 3.9 billion euro loss last year.
The company is forecasting dividends at 25%, up to 250 million euros, taking the sale of its stake in the Yuzhno-Russkoye field into account.
Uniper's core asset in Russia is generating company PJSC Unipro .
