Rosatom, Rosseti to develop electrical equipment together for Russian, int'l energy sector
MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Nuclear Center - the Zababakhin All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Physics (VNIITF) in Chelyabinsk Region and PJSC Federal Test Center (FTC), part of Rosseti signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday.
According to a VNIITF statement, "both partners have made the decision to carry out joint scientific and technical work in the development, installation and testing of the latest technology and high-tech electrical products for fuel and energy facilities in Russia and abroad."
Among priority areas of cooperation are: conducting tests of electrical equipment, developing methods and techniques for carrying out tests, joint research and development in the field of electricity, the standardization of equipment, materials, systems and technology, the support and development of human resources and the development of exports of electrical goods.
The agreement envisages joint participation in innovative projects and the development of new types of high-tech equipment, including for use by Russian electrical grid operators.
VNIITF is part of Rosatom and is one of two world-class nuclear weapons centers operating in Russia. It develops and tests strategic and tactical nuclear weapons and warheads as well as peaceful uses of nuclear and thermonuclear energy.
