Russian gov't creates national anti-doping laboratory as part of MSU
MOSCOW. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed an order establishing the national anti-doping laboratory as part of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), the Russian government's website said.
"The MSU Charter (approved by the government's decree No.223 of March 28, 2008) is amended by provisions on a new structural unit, the national anti-doping laboratory, through the signed order," the website said.
The laboratory will implement measures in anti-doping maintenance of Russia's national sport teams, independent analysis of samples of biological materials for doping control using modern methods, researches aimed at the prevention and countering of the doping use in sports, it said.
"The introduced amendments will enable the national anti-doping laboratory to conduct its activities within the MSU (independently from authorities) in accordance with the International Convention against Doping in Sport of October 19, 2015, and the Russian legislation," the Russian government said.
