EAEU intergovernmental council to discuss mutual recognition of national driving licenses
ASTANA. Aug 13 (Interfax) - The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIC) will discuss measures to implement a coordinated transport policy and to establish a common electric power market, and mutual recognition of national driving licenses, materials to the EIC meeting, which will be held in Astana on August 14, said.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will attend the EIC meeting.
EIC is one of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) bodies, which comprises Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The EIC meeting is also expected to focus on development of sectoral trends of integration and removal of barriers on the EAEU internal market. Meanwhile, the EIC members will consider a Eurasian Economic Commission report on the progress of drafting a program document on implementation of the EAEU's digital agenda through 2025.
EIC plans to sum up intermediate results of efforts to elaborate a draft agreement on pension provision for employees in the EAEU countries and consider the issue of mutual recognition of national driving licenses.
The participants in the meeting will also consider the drafting of an agreement aimed at the establishment of a free trade area between the EAEU and Iran.
