Kazakhstan's construction output rises 0.7% in Jan-July
ALMATY. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's construction output in January-July 2017 rose 0.7% year-on-year to 1.498 trillion tenge, the Statistics Department of the National Economy Ministry said.
In the reporting period, the value of construction work increased by 1.3% year-on-year to 1.323 trillion tenge. The volume of repairs grew 17.4% and maintenance work 20.9%.
As many as 13,365 new buildings were put into operation in the first seven months of 2017.
In January-July 2017, housing construction amounted to 445.2 billion tenge in value or an increase of 0.7% compared with the same period last year. Housing construction was financed mainly by construction companies (69.2%).
Kazakhstan put 6.197 million square meters of new residential floor space into service. The construction costs for residential buildings averaged out to 113,400 tenge per square meter.
