Putin favors using infrastructure mortage loans for transport projects
PIONERSKY (Kaliningrad region). Aug 16 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin suggested wider use be made of the infrastructure mortgage loan mechanism to implement transport projects.
"In implementing transport projects, so-called infrastructure mortgage loans can be used, about which we spoke at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Use of such an instrument is a new practice. All of the organizational and financial questions need to be worked out," Putin said at a meeting on development of transport infrastructure in northwestern Russia.
Putin proposed discussing the possibility of infrastructure mortgage loans for projects in northwestern Russia.
